Badger e-solution increases security and productivity through automated badge request and access rights management
Software solution provider Freemind recently enabled the Belgian Railway (SNCB/NMBS Group) to switch from a paper-based to a full-electronic procedure for requesting facility access badges. Freemind’s Badger software is a web-enabled application that manages the access rights of most of Belgian Railway’s 36,000+ employees. Freemind Badger ensures that nobody unauthorised gains access to personnel-only areas in railway stations, workshops, administration centres or in the Channel terminal, where international security regulations apply. As the new digital process facilitates employee access administration across Belgium, it forms an integral part of Belgian Railway’s Corporate
Security Service (CSS). Using Badger, Belgian Railway reduces the processing of badge requests and the adaptation of access rights from weeks to days or even hours. Besides faster turnaround, CSS more accurately, securely and productively deals with the monthly rate of 2,000 badge-related requests. In addition, CSS uses Badger’s on-line monitoring and reporting to transparently interact with badge requesters and share employee access metrics with management.
The Freemind project team is knowledgeable, flexible and wellorganised, resulting in software deliveries meeting timing and quality requirements
